The Top 25 business models have been selected to move on to the next round of the Third Annual Silicon Valley StartUp Cup Business Model Competition. The entrepreneurs will receive priceless advice from Coaches and Judges throughout the competition.
“StartUp Cup provides an opportunity for budding entrepreneurs to take their creative business ideas and mold them into well grounded, actionable business plans with support and coaching from experienced business people,” says Richard L Conniff, President and CEO, Focus Bank, a sponsor of the Silicon Valley StartUp Cup since 2012.
The Top 25 Finalists are: be3D, BOXX Corp., Bluehome, Chicken Without Borders, CliqStart, Coast2Coast, College Companion App, DM WELLNESS GROUP, Digital Owl Studio, DUAL, Europalab Networks, Fashion at Your Fingertips, Flickflyer, Freepion, FUTBOLCONNECT, Inc., GranolaMeCrazy, GymNerd, HeatherLeBas, Human Services Hub, Corp., InstaFlorist, Paint It Red Theater Company, Radiu$, Rouge Reel, Smarty Pants, and Virtual Closet.
StartUp Cup Judges, Mentors and Coaches provide meaningful input, feedback, and criticism to participants. Those that have incubated and filtered these ideas into their business models, have been able to advance through the competition.
“Our coaches enabled us to see the many different ways we could use our business model. Today we are able to take our model into discussions about our marketing strategy, about our pricing, about our software architecture, and make it a living, viable tool to market our business.” — Nancy McKereghan, Tangerine+, 1st Place Winner 2013 Silicon Valley StartUp Cup.
The Top 25 will present a full business model and give a seven-minute pitch to Judges who will identify the 12 best business models and advance them to the Semi-Final Round. These 12 semifinalists will then work with StartUp Cup Business Model and Pitch Coaches who will provide expertise to help them polish their business models and pitching techniques.
Seven Finalists will compete for the top prize, to be awarded November 20th at a ceremony at West Valley College during Global Entrepreneurship Week. The first, second and third place winners will receive additional coaching that will be given by our StartUp Cup Judges and Coaches.
Sponsors of the Silicon Valley StartUp Cup Business Model Competition are: Focus Business Bank, Meriwest Credit Union, and West Valley College.
