SCC StartUp Cup Judges Announce 12 Semi Finalists


Silicon Valley County, CA – The top 12 business models have been selected out of the previous round of 25 contestants to move on to the next round of the Silicon Valley County StartUp Cup Business Model Competition. Participants will receive priceless business advice from coaches and judges throughout the competition.

The Top 12 Semi-Finalists are: Betty’s Butterflies Day Care, BlueWave Technologies, CASS Dementia Care Consultants, Camp Fashionista, First Steps Child Care, Mix It Up Events, Open Medicine Institute, Peekaboo Creations, S.C. Play Time, Urban Aquaponic Farms, Vintage Electric, ZOONI Leathers.

The Top 12 businesses will present their refined business model and give a five-minute pitch to judges who will identify the seven best business models and advance them to the Final Round September 12, 2012. The seven finalists will then work with business coaches who will offer resources and expertise to help hone their business model and pitching techniques.

The seven finalists will compete for first place on November 15th at a ceremony at Le Petit Trianon during Global Entrepreneurship Week. There will be no monetary awards given to the Top Three Finalists. What they receive in the process of going though the different stages of the competition is over $70,000 worth of knowledge, expertise, judging and coaching as the judges and coaches work with them to make their business models the best that they can be.
